Alex Miller Takes Starring Role In His New Music Video, “Girl, I Know A Guy”

Nashville, TN (May 30, 2023) – American Idol alum Alex Miller continues to push his comfort zone, taking on the male lead in his latest music video, “Girl, I Know A Guy.” While Alex has appeared in each of his previous videos, it has been in a performance capacity; this is his first outing as an actor. “I really enjoyed it,” Miller admits. “I’m a huge fan of Brad Pitt and Tom Hanks, and so I just channelled them and let ‘er rip.” His approach worked; Pitt’s pouty simmer and Hanks’ sense of humor are evident throughout. The clip opens to a sunlit bedroom and a leggy brunette beginning her day. Quick cuts are used to jump the story forward with Alex sitting on the tailgate of a pickup truck, singing his heart out. Cut back to the female lead as she enters her local coffee shop, and Alex appears as a smitten waiter and the romancing begins. Between free coffee and a forgotten handbag, the stars align and, in a dream sequence the two lovebirds romp through an idyllic meadow towards what promises, surely, to be a life of bliss. It’s an upbeat treatment for a mid-tempo love song – and it’s pure Alex Miller. The video premiered on Miller’s YouTube channel today.

Jake Ybarra Conjures Magic With SOMETHING IN THE WATER

South Carolina Singer/Songwriter’s Debut Album Available April 7

Nashville, TN (April 24, 2023) – Jake Ybarra’s latest music video, “BloodFire,” premieres today on The Bluegrass Situation. A companion piece to Jake’s newest single, the clip is deceptively simple – and compelling. Ybarra is tall and dark, with a commanding presence that draws the eye, and director William Gawley for Charlotte Avenue Pictures makes excellent use of that here. There are three main characters in this piece: Ybarra, a Viking-worthy bonfire, and the moonlight. Special effects make a guest appearance, with mesmerizing images of molten lava creatively used to add to the dangerous feel of the nighttime imagery.

Jake Ybarra Conjures Magic With SOMETHING IN THE WATER

South Carolina Singer/Songwriter’s Debut Album Available April 7

Nashville, TN (March 2, 2023) – Jake Ybarra’s first full-length album, SOMETHING IN THE WATER, a coalescence of nature, nurture, influence, and observation will be available April 7. The well-paced project resonates with emotion and insightful storytelling. From a sense of yearning - for life, for love and for understanding - to a celebratory joy at rekindled love, demons chased, and lives well lived, Jake plumbs the hidden corners of the heart. Ybarra’s rich, rumbling baritone is magical … hear the catch in his voice and feel your own heart break; “hear” the smirk and feel the smile. There are hints of humor, legions of loss, and heaps of honest reflection in this diverse collection. Influenced by the “church” music on which he was raised and secular icons Guy Clark, John Prine, James McMurtry, and Townes Van Zandt, the characters in Jake’s songs are often reminiscent of those found in the writings of his favorite authors, George Saunders, Stephen Vincent Benet, and Ernest Hemingway.

It’s a bit outside of what most might consider Miller’s “traditional Country” lane, but the move was intentional and offers a glimpse at another side of this talented Kentucky-born vocalist.
