Charlotte Morris Offers Message Of Heartbreak & Healing With New Video, “Love Ain’t Real”

Nashville, TN (November 14, 2023) – Charlotte Morris offers a message of heartbreak and healing in her new video, “Love Ain’t Real,” which premiered today on Americana UK. Shot in Nashville, the impactful short film was directed by William Gawley and produced by Michelle Robertson for Charlotte Avenue Pictures. In the clip, Morris is featured, dressed simply in black and seated in front of a stark, black backdrop. Videographer Austen Boylen’s fine hand captured her beauty and vulnerability within the set’s harrowing darkness, mirroring her early trauma. A floating screen periodically shows images inspired by Morris’ dreams for a childhood centered around one cohesive family unit. As Charlotte’s world fell apart due to her parents’ divorce, the resulting pain becomes evident in the ably acted conceptual portrayal. Driving it all, of course, is the song itself, which combines a soaring, seeking melody and intensely emotional lyrics. Charlotte’s nuanced soprano creates magic as she bares her soul, sharing the hardships endured to find that healing can happen, hope does exist – and that love might be real after all.

New Video - Alex Miller Makes Hay While The Sun Shines - “Puttin’ Up Hay” Premieres Today

Nashville, TN (November 9, 2023) – Young Country star Alex Miller’s latest music video, “Puttin’ Up Hay,” premiered today on Taste Of Country. Filmed during Miller’s three-day engagement at the Missouri State Fair (Sedalia) in August, the piece captures the excitement of Miller’s high-energy stage show. The clip opens in the barn “where it all started” as Alex’s bandmembers listen as he reflects on long hot summers working to bring in the crop. Director/videographer Steve Kinney artfully captured the feel of the performances, and the stage shots include Alex’s antics and the band’s tight licks. Leading lady Haley Brinkman was a natural fit as she danced and explored the Midway with Alex. Bumper cars, a Ferris Wheel, games of chance and smoothies all make appearances in the vibrant video. “Gosh, it was such fun to shoot this one,” Alex recalls. “The fans made filming a blast. It was great – lights, music, a pretty girl. Who could ask for more?” The video is a companion to Alex’s new single, “Puttin’ Up Hay,” written by Alex Miller, Larry Cordle and Jerry Salley, and released October 6. With the resurgent interest in the Western lifestyle generated by TV shows Yellowstone and 1883, it’s no wonder fans have been clamoring for the tune more than ever at the duo’s live shows. “I’ve never believed that the life of a song was confined by its release date,” Mike says. “Lately we’ve had folks ask about a video; the timing worked and here we are.” The clip premieres tomorrow on the popular OTT Network, Stars Over Texas, which streams on Apple, Roku and on-demand via the Red Dirt music’s website. (Nashville, TN - June 21, 2023) – Milkshakes and memories fill Daryl Mosley’s new video, “Mayberry State Of Mind,” with a sweetness that reflects on the simple pleasures in life. Images of Daryl working “mandatory overtime” kick off the clip, which quickly transitions to scenes of Main Street strolls, chats with fellow locals and a walk along the riverbank. The video is deliberately low-key with zero “flash” – there are no special effects to jar the small-town vibe. The slower pace works well to focus the viewer’s attention and encourage an appreciation of that “Mayberry state of mind” when everyone knew their neighbors – and cared for their wellbeing.

Alex Miller Takes Starring Role In His New Music Video, “Girl, I Know A Guy”

Nashville, TN (May 30, 2023) – American Idol alum Alex Miller continues to push his comfort zone, taking on the male lead in his latest music video, “Girl, I Know A Guy.” While Alex has appeared in each of his previous videos, it has been in a performance capacity; this is his first outing as an actor. “I really enjoyed it,” Miller admits. “I’m a huge fan of Brad Pitt and Tom Hanks, and so I just channelled them and let ‘er rip.” His approach worked; Pitt’s pouty simmer and Hanks’ sense of humor are evident throughout. The clip opens to a sunlit bedroom and a leggy brunette beginning her day. Quick cuts are used to jump the story forward with Alex sitting on the tailgate of a pickup truck, singing his heart out. Cut back to the female lead as she enters her local coffee shop, and Alex appears as a smitten waiter and the romancing begins. Between free coffee and a forgotten handbag, the stars align and, in a dream sequence the two lovebirds romp through an idyllic meadow towards what promises, surely, to be a life of bliss. It’s an upbeat treatment for a mid-tempo love song – and it’s pure Alex Miller. The video premiered on Miller’s YouTube channel today.

There are three main characters in this piece: Ybarra, a Viking-worthy bonfire, and the moonlight. Special effects make a guest appearance, with mesmerizing images of molten lava creatively used to add to the dangerous feel of the nighttime imagery.

Ybarra’s rich, rumbling baritone is magical … hear the catch in his voice and feel your own heart break; “hear” the smirk and feel the smile. There are hints of humor, legions of loss, and heaps of honest reflection in this diverse collection. Influenced by the “church” music on which he was raised and secular icons Guy Clark, John Prine, James McMurtry, and Townes Van Zandt, the characters in Jake’s songs are often reminiscent of those found in the writings of his favorite authors, George Saunders, Stephen Vincent Benet, and Ernest Hemingway.
