Nashville, TN (June 23, 2015)- Canadian songwriter/producer Kenny Butterill has set concert dates for his "Troubadour Tales" summer tour of Scotland, his first ever tour to Europe. Butterill will be playing with his California guitar sideman Dave Davis and Scotland's own Gary Arnott on harmonica and Tony Duffy, multi-instrumentalist. Additional special guests will be sitting in as well. "I'm really looking forward to touring Scotland this summer," says Butterill. The dates are: Tuesday, July 28 Leith Folk Club, Edinburgh Thursday, July 30 The Green Room Ltd., Perth Friday, July 31 Kelty Rock Club, Fife Saturday, August 1 Crystal House, Strathpeffer Sunday, August 2 The Twa Corbies, Cumbernauld Monday, August 3 The Market Bar, Inverness Tuesday, August 4 Argyll Hotel, Ullapool Friday, August 7 Belladrum Festival, Inverness Ten years in the making, Butterill's latest CD, "Troubadour Tales," was recorded in several studios with over twenty luminary guests including Donovan, Cindy Cashdollar, Ray Bonneville, Redd Volkaert and Audrey Auld, amongst others, and is getting rave reviews and strong airplay around the world.
Sometimes compared to Gordon Lightfoot, JJ Cale and John Prine, Butterill's rustic, minimalist music is richly textured but never over-produced. Butterill's live shows have a warm ambience with an up-close personal vibe that match the cool feel and groove of his albums.
"There is a time in every artist's career when they are at the top of their game. For Kenny Butterill that time is now!" says Brent Jeffries, freelance writer for The Sun Times, Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada where Butterill performed last year. |
