Nashville, TN (July 10, 2008) - Becky Schlegel brings her bluegrass-infused country/folk sound to the Great River Folk Festival (www.greatriverfolkfest.org) in La Crosse, Wisconsin on August 23.  Becky's 8 p.m. show should be a highlight of the 33rd annual three-day event, which promotes a family-friendly environment, and features not only traditional, contemporary folk and ethnic music, but workshops and handcrafted wares from area artists as well.

Schlegel is excited to make her Festival debut and says, "This event has a wonderful reputation for bringing in incredible talent.  That they invited me to this year's gathering is certainly an honor."  Other artists performing at GRFF 2008 include seven-time Grammy nominee John McCutcheon; Johnsmith, past winner of the New Folk competition at the Kerrville Folk Festival and Matt Wattroba, radio show host ("Folks Like Us"/ WDET-FM) and "Best Overall Folk Performer (Detroit Music Awards, 2000).  Becky will be accompanied by renowned banjoist/guitarist Brian Fesler, who shared production credits with her on her third solo (and first nationally-distributed CD), FOR ALL THE WORLD TO SEE.

Released June 17, the disc is drawing rave reviews from European and U.S. critics, and the album's debut single, "Bound For Tennessee," is gaining momentum at both Country and Americana radio.  Becky recently played a show at Nashville's famed Bluebird CafĂ©, and upcoming appearances include the Redwing Art's Festival (July 12), RFD-TV's Midwest Country Theater (August 16) and the Minnesota State Fair (August 21 & 22).

Becky is a multi-award winning artist (Minnesota Music Academy) who tours regularly and guests frequently on NPR's A Prairie Home Companion.  Her voice and songwriting have been compared to Alison Krauss and Jewel, and recent print coverage includes Bluegrass Unlimited, Country Weekly and Maverick
