Nashville,
TN (June 2, 2008) -- Emerging singer/songwriter Becky Schlegel is giving Country Weekly readers
a chance to download her new single, "Bound For Tennessee," for
FREE via its new Listen Up! feature. The June 16 issue
(in stores now) also offers new music downloads from Lonestar, Rick
Monroe, Steve Azar, Jamie Fox and David Kroll that fans can access online
from www.countryweekly.com.
The Minneapolis-based Schlegel is a multi-award winning
contemporary bluegrass/country artist who appears regularly on RFD TV
network's Midwest Country Theater and Garrison Keillor's A Prairie Home
Companion. Schlegel, who grew up in rural South Dakota, started her
career playing traditional country music as the teenage keyboardist in her
mother's band, The Country Benders. She fell in love with bluegrass
while attending college and that infatuation continued to grow after she
moved to Minnesota. The vibrant Twin Cities' music scene
inspired Schlegel and she has created a unique style of
bluegrass-flavored country that has brought her significant success as an
independent recording artist. "Bound For Tennessee" is the
first of Schlegel's singles to be released to country radio, and is from
her upcoming JUNE 17 album FOR ALL THE WORLD TO SEE (Lilly Ray/IGO
Records).
